The Hotel Nuevo Torreluz, the oldest Hotel in the city, is today a modern four-star hotel with a great location in the historical and commercial center of Almeria city. It reopened in 2012, completely renovated.

There are a lot of tourist attractions within walking distance, including the beautiful beach, the main shopping district, the Cathedral, the Alcazaba, the Convent of Santa Clara, San Cristobal Castle. and the train station. 

The Hotel:

Rooms are spacious and fully equipped to make you fell at home. You can choose between standard, superior, triple, family, individual and junior suites.

All rooms are fully equipped with bathroom, air conditioning, Wi-Fi Internet access, minibar, TV LED 32 "satellite TV with more 40 international channels, laptop safes, desks, bathroom amenities and a hairdryer. Superior rooms are more spacious and have memory foam mattresses and pillows.

The facilities available at the Hotel Nuevo Torreluz include free internet point with computer in reception, room service, private garage, conference rooms, a gastrobar and meeting rooms.

The Hotel Nuevo Torreluz has designed all of its facilities in order to make them fully accessible to disabled people, while two of the rooms are specially adapted.

The Restaurants & Gastronomy:

Torreluz is well known for its excellent gastronomy and very popular among local people. The following places do belong to them:

Mediterraneo Restaurant

The Mediterraneo Restaurant is built in a renovated classical building, with a glass facade.

The highlight is its Mediterranean creative cuisine offering traditional Almeria tapas, starters and main dishes. In the menu you will find tapas such as "Piquillo" .

The interior combines light and color, reminding you that you are in the Mediterranean. It is an intimate restaurant with two floors. The larger downstairs with about 9 tables, and more intimate upstairs with only 5 tables.

The head of the kitchen is the experienced chef, Miguel Moreno, assuring quality and creativity of the food. Prices range between 25 € - 50 €.

Almedina Restaurant & Cafetería

This Restaurant and Cafetería will surprise you with excellent service, quality of food. It serves breakfast, snacks and tapas on the terrace  but also daily meals at an incredible price from 15 euros for a full menu and drink in a spotless restaurant with modern decor, tablecloths and napkins, cutlery and crockery. Ideal for a short stop to recharge and continue the pace of the day or to put an end to the day in a relaxed atmosphere. 

Taberna

The Taberna's decoration is inspired in flamenco and bullfighting, offering a tranquil outdoor terrace (open all year). Rations and Tapas are made an open kitchen and Iberian products are masterfully cut. This place has achieved loyal local customers over 20 years, making this spot a must for anyone wishing to enjoy the most typical cuisine in the city. 

(The Taberna is one of my favorite stop. So you might well see me there sitting on the terrace, sipping a cup of coffee, or enjoying my daily tapas, right next to the John Lennon statue....)
